Jehovah is the English Translation of God's Hebrew Name Chris Giroux, Unregistered As Jesus is the English translation of the Hebrew/Aramaic name used by the Son of God while flesh on earth, Jehovah is the most prevalent translation of the Hebrew name formed by the four consonants known as the Tetragrammaton. Were the major Bible translators not to have followed a Jewish tradition of not using the name, and replacing its nearly 7000 occurrences with the euphemism 'LORD', the name of God the Father of all would be as common in today's world as is Jesus.
