I have often pondered on the longevity of persons in genesis living so long. I think that maybe, the erroneous actions of adam and eve, damaged their dna, and through time, lifespan has been shortened over the millenia, humans were designed to regenerate indefinately, and i think that a measured lifespan is not long enough to atone for sins, and that reincarnation is a provision of God to enable us to become fully concious in the Lord, before entering paradise as perfected humans. just a thought.

Man from Adam to Noah.lived under different atmospheric conditions to men who lived after the flood.The difference in atmospheric conditions was as a result of the firmament.The presence of the firmament gave the semblance of a "green house" effect.i.e. The oxygen content of the earth was higher than it is presently.A wound that would presently take 21 days to recover would heal overnight when the earth was enveloped under the canopy of the firmament.The conditions were somewhat prestine than currently though less than the conditions that existed in the Garden of Eden.The firmament protected man from the harmful effects of the suns rays.All these conditions and much more enabled man live for as long as he did prior to the flood. Notice it is only when the firmament melted and came down as rain hence resulting in Noah's flood that the length of man's years began to shorten. I believe the waters of the oceans of the world are remnants of the firmament. Oceans came into being after the flood of Noah's day.Previously there were lakes, seas and rivers.
