"I couldn't find a pencil."

"I left it at home. "

"The dog ate it!"

Excuses, Excuses, Excuses! Some good, some bad, some ridiculous.

Why? We don't want to face the facts. We blind our selves to the truth - especially if the truth hurts.

A local policeman clocked a driver travelling on highway 84 in southern Massachusetts at 85 mph. Even though it was 3 o'clock in the morning - it was still a 55 mph zone. The policeman pulled out and pursued the car. Soon, he discovered the driver had no intention of stopping. Radioing for a second cruiser, both police cars gave chase. The speeding car blew through the Sturbridge toll booth and turned east onto the Mass Turnpike. Joined along the way by several State Police, the chase continued at speeds up to 100 mph for 60 miles!

Approaching Boston at the end of the turnpike, the vehicle raced through another toll booth and zipped down some side streets. Several police cruisers raced after her. Finally she came to a parking lot with no where to go. The vehicle stopped. Patrol cars swarmed around the car. The driver calmly stepped out of her car. The policeman promptly handcuffed and arrested her. The police man asked her why she didn't pull over for 60 miles. Her answer? "I was afraid to slow down and pullover - because the roads were wet and slick with rain."

Isn't that a lousy excuse! She simply did not want to face the truth.

If you want to have God's Salvation, you'll have to be honest. You must agree with God that you are as sinful as He says. No excuses! You must agree with God that you are as helpless as He says. No excuses! Come as an honest soul to Christ for salvation now. If you do, you will be able to say, "I was blind, but now I see" (John 9:25).

If you blind yourself in this life, your eyes will be "opened" in eternity. But, then it will be too late!
