Sunday School Lesson 112 Lot Makes His Choice Print E-mail

Lesson: 112 Lesson Name: Lot Makes His Choice
Theme: Sin's Attractiveness / Two Ways

Reading: Genesis 13:2-18

Memory Verse: Romans 3:12
Memory Verse Text: They are all gone out of the way.

Attention Getter: Holding a handful of high denomination (imitation) money, allow the students' imaginations to to tell you what they would do if the money were real and if it were actually theirs!

Point 1: Riches bring it's own problems.  In this case, there is strife between brethren.
Point 2: Abram, the friend of God, wanted no trouble between them.
Point 3: A choice is made based on externals.
Point 4: Abram chose "an altar unto the Lord" (Gen. 13:18), and Lot chose a place in the administation and company of the wicked (Gen. 13:13).  Afterward, God gives it ALL to Abraham and Lot loses everything.

Illustration: Tell how a choice you made or pursued caused you hurt or shame.

Notes: Note for believing children how that Lot grieved his righteous soul and dwarfed his own usefulness (2 Peter 2:6-9).

Summary: Lot made a big blunder.  You and I each must choose who, and which path, we will follow.  Be careful how you choose!
