Tom Bentley - His personal story about how he was saved as a boy and then called into missionary service. He now serves in the Lord's work in Malaysia.
Point 1: In Ex. 3:16, note what God wanted Moses to say to the Elders: I am visiting you (amazing thought), I have seen, and I will bring you up out of Egypt. Point 2: Discuss what God wanted for His people: A three day journey out of Egypt (rather than 40 years), a clear distinction between His people and all others, and to have all gathered to Him without distraction or rival. However, this wouldn't take place without problems. Point 3: Moses said, "I know they won't listen to me." How quick we are to doubt the greatness of the One who reveals Himself and speaks through us. Point 4: Through a few "object lessons," God had something for Moses to learn and remember: 1) Rod turned into serpent. Lesson: God could have made him run! 2) His hand became full of leprosy, an appalling and awful disease. Lesson: God can cleanse the vilest thing.
