Jim Batterton - That night, January 9, 1989, I paced around my room. All of the memory verses I had ever learned were racing through my mind. I knew I really needed to be saved, and as I became increasingly more upset, I was realizing that I really didn’t know how to be saved...
Memory Verse: Matthew 11:28 Memory Verse Text: Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Point 1: Moses and Aaron went to the great, powerful, and proud Pharaoh to speak what God said, "Let MY PEOPLE go." Point 2: Pharaoh had no respect for God and had no appreciation for what the Lord wanted. He thought himself to be a god. God's will and God's people meant nothing to him; he didn't want the people to leave their burdens. Egypt and His pleasure were all that matterd to the King. Point 3: Instead of getting better gradually, the situation got worse. Further burdens were added and hurtful conditions were afflicted. Point 4: The people doubted because they were worse off, had more hurts, greater hardship, less family time, and less time for God's things. Moses doubted and wondered, "WHY?"
Notes: God reveals in Exodus 12 that He wanted His people released so that they could: 1) Sacrifice (v. 27), 2) Feast (v.14), and 3) Serve (v. 25). It is clear that salvation starts us on the road to WORSHIP, FELLOWSHIP and SERVICE.
