Point 1: Spies were sent to Jericho. Even though Rahab would have been called disloyal for receiving the spies into her home, she did due to what she had heard (Joshua 2:9-11). Rahab knew that it was better to be on the Lord's side no matter what other people thought of her. Point 2: Rahab's eyes were open to the fact that God was mightily with His people and to the potential danger of acting against God's people. Rahab recognized that her city and people were in danger and she did not wait for the judgment to fall. Point 3: Rahab pled her case, starting with what she knew of God! She wanted to be spared! Which one of us wouldn't want the same? Rahab wanted a sure token; something she was sure God would give her. Point 4: She was given God's people's word of promise and told to bind the scarlet cord in the window. The scarlet cord is a picture of the sinner's only hope, the precious shed blood of the Lord Jesus.
