Aric Stickfort - my grandpa often asked me “When are you going to get saved”. I never answered his question in all the years he asked me. Then he passed away. God used this to loudly speak to me. I knew for sure he was at peace, home in Heaven with his Savior. I never stopped thinking about that...
Memory Verse: Ps. 93:5 Memory Verse Text: Holiness becometh thine house, O Lord, for ever.
Point 1: God gave the Israelites some new commandments, but transporting the Ark on a new cart was not one of them. Even though God had put it in David's heart to bring the Ark out of the house of Abinadab, he needed to learn that there was a right way to do what needed to be done. The new cart was all wrong since it didn't follow the instructions that God had given long ago. Point 2: When Uzzah touched the Ark, God struck him down in sudden judgment, causing David to become very afraid! The Ark was taken to the house of Obed-edom; the Lord blessed him and his household. Application: Fear can be a very good thing. Point 3: Since the Ark was brought up to Jerusalem in the proper way, on the shoulders of the Levites, some one must have done some asking. There was a lot of and rejoicing once the symbol of the Presence of God was in the proper place again. Point 4: Because Obed-edom kept the Ark in his home for three months, he became linked with it for the rest of his life. In addition, he and Jehiah became caretakers of the Ark.
